Joshua 1:8 King James Version (KJV)

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

 

The words of God is the mind of God. There are three ways in which God speaks to man.

Number 1 – Through the His anointed ones.

Number 2 – Through the people.

Number 3 – Through the scripture (Bible)

 

God speaks to us in many ways. He speaks through His anointed ones. The anointed ones are the pastors, prophets, evangelists, teachers, etc. These people are called by God to preach, teach, deliver, etc. certain messages as God has directed. The anointed are the people God has sent to us to give us the good news.

 

God also speaks to people directly. For example – Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Samuel, Pharoah, etc. God talked to them directly without sending other people to them. These people received God words directly. The words they received are met for them personally or for other people. It doesn’t matter whether they know God or not.

 

Lastly, God speaks through the Bible. The world is now full of different people. Those with God’s calling and without any call. The anointed ones and unainoited ones. The world is full of different people that are parading themselves as man of God. The Bible said in First John 3:7, ‘Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous’.

You cannot be deceive if you know the scripture very well. In Joshua 1:8, it will make you prosperous. It means you cannot fell for fault teaching, prophecies, messages, etc.

 

Search the Scriptures 

Acts 17:11 (New International Version)  Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

Test the Spirit 

1 John 4:1 (ESV), Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. 

When you search the scriptures to test their spirit, you are not doubting them or their faith, and if they think you are doubting them, good and fine. Always let the scriptures guide you thoroughly, clean and prepare you in your Christian’s journey.
